Trying Timeleft
Timeleft is a social gathering app that creates meetups between you and 5 strangers.
I tried it out tonight, and thoroughly enjoyed it!
The main thing that stuck out to me was that everyone there was there to connect with others. Some had recently immigrated, others had been through a divorce, and others just wanted to get out of their isolation and comfort zone. I expected everyone else to be highly extroverted because I assumed mostly social butterflies would attend events like these, but I couldn’t have been more wrong.
My main takeaways were:
Life gets really isolating as you grow up. It gets harder after you graduate high school, and exponentially harder after you graduate university. I’m extremely thankful that I’m still in uni and have the privilege of studying and hanging out with the same people regularly. I’m going to try my best to maintain all my friendships, no matter how distant, and will reach out to people I’ve not spoken to over the summer holidays.
I highly enjoy learning about people’s different walks of life, and am grateful that I become energised by social interactions. I wonder to what extent intro vs extroversion are controlled by your genes vs environment.
Super short post today, really sleepy. Thanks for reading!!
